Diamond Painting: Featured Creator Jim Lind

Discovering the Beauty of Diamond Painting

When I was a student (obsessively) training in art, the department was focused on preparing people for the entertainment industry — and they were the best at what they did … but I had already been a designer in that field, and felt I was meant to be doing something else at that point. The desire was there to do something uplifting or fun, though at the time, I never even heard of diamond painting. When I first saw the craft and the stunning results people achieved, I fell in love! I’ve always admired those who truly craft — they make their lives and homes so warm and welcoming. Diamond painting is like an evolution of cross-stitch and paint-by-number; it reminds me of friends who practice crochet or the meditative act of making mandalas — slow, deliberate, healing, and beautiful. I love that people can also 'enhance' the designs, alter colors as they wish - and add their own original creativity to the finished pieces. Each piece feels like a small act of hope. I’m so grateful to be part of something that reminds us all to slow down and just enjoy life.

... Some of you might know me from my work with Diamond Art Club -- But I have to confess — I’ve been so busy with my work that I haven’t had the chance to try my first diamond painting yet! When I do, I plan to start with a personal favorite, my "Autumnal Sunflower." Featured Creator: Jim Lind (Diamond Painting Jim)

Being new to the hobby, I began exploring channels that help you understand the process — and came across a sneak peek of my own Sunflower painting done by one of my now-favorites, Diamond Painting Jim. Jim makes diamond painting feel approachable for both beginners and experienced makers. I was excited (and honored) to find he’s done “Sneak Peeks” of a few of my designs – but more than that, I’ve enjoyed watching his thoughtful approach to this craft. Jim has a wonderful pace, a gentle voice, an understated but witty sense of humor, and a pleasant Scottish accent. He has a wide range and format of videos; I especially like his unhurried rhythm that helps you relax into your own project.

He breaks his reviews into clear, organized sections you can skip around to easily, giving viewers the ability to focus on what matters most to them. His channel is a great guide for anyone exploring new kits or tools.  He takes the time to test tools, and explains everything in the kits, helping his viewers make informed choices while enjoying the process along the way. Here's a little 'intro' video:

If you’d like to discover a channel that feels as pleasant as the art itself, I highly recommend Diamond Painting Jim. He’s a dedicated teacher, a thoughtful reviewer, and an encouraging presence to have alongside you while you create. >>> Find his Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/@DiamondPaintingJim Thanks for following along, and Happy Creating!
